BiographyEdit

With over a decade of work leading up to the release of the behemoth Avatar, Joel David Moore made his unique look a world-wide entertainment entity.

After years of a successful run in the commercial world, Moore began his feature career starring opposite Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller in the sleeper hit Dodgeball. Capitalizing on his early success, Joel starred in a string of films, including portraying the iconic antagonist JP in the Fox picture Grandma's Boy, U/A's Art School Confidential, Anchor Bay's Hatchet and Beyond a Reasonable Doubt with Michael Douglas. Moore's recent work includes working with acclaimed director Oliver Stone on his newest release, Savages, Unified Pictures Janie Jones, starring Abigail Breslin, Relativity's 3D adventure thriller Shark Night 3D and Samuel Goldwyn's biopic Grassroots with Jason Biggs and Lauren Ambrose. He followed that up playing the legendary Joey Ramone in Randy Miller's CBGB. This year will see him in Sony's Grace and the Sundance pick The Guest. He just wrapped Traveling Picture Show's new feature Divine Access, starring opposite Gary Cole, Billy Burke, Patrick Warburton and Sara Shahi.

Joel's comprehensive background soon drove him to explore other aspects of the film industry and in 2005 he made his directorial debut co-writing, co-directing, and starring in the independent psychological-thriller Spiral, which won the Santa Barbara Film Fest, and was released theatrically in early 2008 by Anchor Bay. He just wrapped up his sophomore directing feature, Killing Winston Jones, starring Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Glover, Danny Masterson and Jon Heder. The success of these led to signing on to direct Sundial Pic's next film, the comedic drama Youth in Oregon. Along with producing Spiral, he's gone on to produce the feature Etienne, the hit play-turned-film Jewtopia, which he starred in surrounded by an incredible cast including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jon Lovitz, Rita Wilson, Tom Arnold, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Camryn Manheim and others. He went on to star in and executive produce Stuart Acher's dark comedy Stuck, opposite Madeline Zima. Alongside his contagiously fun role as Fisher on Fox's TV syndicated hit Bones, he will be continuing the fabulous journey as Norm Spellman when James Cameron heads back to Pandora for Avatar 2 & 3.

Passionate about the importance of volunteering, Moore gives his time to numerous charities, and organizations around the Los Angeles area, including a wide support for the troops overseas that includes USO tours and military visits.
